Restylane

Restylane® is a dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body. With facial aging, skin becomes less elastic and the underlying soft tissues lose fullness. This leads to a hollowing of certain areas of the face, most commonly under the eyes, around the mouth, and along the angle between the nose and the corner of the mouth. With the loss of skin elasticity, areas adjacent to the hollowing can also bulge forward (most commonly seen as bags under the eye), which can accentuate the appearance of hollowing.

Dermal fillers such as Restylane® can help soften and smooth the visible transition points between areas of hollowing, volume loss, or wrinkles and folds.

Dermal fillers can be injected in the office with minimal pain and down-time. The effects can be seen instantaneously, and last for about six months, at which time the filler can be re-injected.
